Job Summary:
As a Diesel Technician at Valley Equipment Services, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems. Your role is crucial in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet or equipment, contributing to the smooth operation of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and associated systems, including fuel systems, transmissions, and exhaust systems.
· Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
· Conduct inspections and tests to identify and resolve problems in diesel engines and related components.
· Replace or repair worn or damaged parts, such as belts, hoses, and filters.
· Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and any other relevant documentation.
· Adhere to safety procedures and protocols while performing tasks.
· Collaborate with other team members to resolve complex mechanical issues and ensure timely repairs.
· Stay current with industry developments, technologies, and best practices to improve skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in diesel mechanics is preferred.
· Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role, with a strong understanding of diesel engines and related systems.
· Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
· Capability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoors and in confined spaces.
